Thank you for Smoking

Nick Naylor seemed provocative, manipulative and ignorant person. He doesn't seem to care what other people think of him and what he has done to others. He only care of bribing and getting the money. After the opening scene I felt that he was a bad person.
From my perspective I don't think he is considered as hero. Being a hero is having a good quality like, honest, truthful, caring etc. Nick is ignorant, selfish, and manipulative (not a hero characteristic). I don't think Captain nor reporter are considered hero. Senator tried to bring the voice in but was usually unsuccessful.
I disagree, I think he gave a bad influence in his son. His son started to think like him and started to idolize him. Which is bad thing because he has such a bad quality.
Senator was a hypocrite in many things. Supporting the disabled kids and showing the good side but as his conversation with his colleague he didn't care much about them
Manipulating the rich people or bribing the known people. Making advertise or getting the word out. He was a deceiver and a liar
No I was not. Through out the movie she was constantly asking him questions and I knew she was up not for him but the questions.
In a way if that would get you money in your life then I, if i were in his case would probably do the same but if you look at a bigger picture and look at the citizens then, i guess your doing a bad job.
Truth telling requires, honesty and big morals. But to a certain extent, I man has to do, what he has to do, bring money home and supporting the family. Ultimately, I think ethic morals all ties up in your perspective of what is right and wrong.
No, I didn't feeling any change in my feeling toward him. I didn't feel pity, nor i felt proud. He did what he had to do and even though it is considered wrong in the society, the ultimate envision was "paying the rent"
